Wedding invitation of my Best Friend

I has been working for last one month with some designs for creating a wedding invitation for my best friend from school days.

This is one of the designs i have worked out with lots of pain and finally ended in success..

to be frank i has been working with more than 7 – 8 designs before ending up with this kind of an invitation card.

I have been selecting some background images randomly with a thought that, this invitation card has to be an unique one and should be given to my friend as a surprise gift…

The surprise and all went off when she asked me directly, where is her invitation card and started bullying me to make it done…

finally i did some research on designing and card designing… finally came to an idea that the invitation card has to be simple and easily readable.

the idea completely got changed, when i started with a blank white background in Gimp.

It was the starting of some good thinking from my side… just sorted out some images which i got from the internet, which could be used for the invitation.. did some manipulation on that.. some selective coloring and background masking…

Then started incorporating the images one over the other… in a white background keeping a pink gradient over it….( did my first kind of gradient application…– an accidental discovery…)

It was with a great difficulty i selected the Font for the invitation… just randomly searched over my collection of over 4000 fonts and symbols….

did some thought process on how that could be highlighted.. for a better view….anyway i have to do my best for my dear friend….

Ultimately i did this….

i was happy for this.. as i got the first.. thanks and nice work comment from my family itslef.. and later from my dear friend….:)

Now i am a little confident about myself.. to design much more.. still lot to learn and to try with new ideas….

Its worth, working.. hard.. for some people who came to life… unexpectedly and don’t want to miss….for the lifetime…

An Invitation Card for my Twin Friends for their Engagement

This is the first design of the year 2011 by me after a small Gap, as i was not having access to the tools and was out of state, couldn’t do much with any design ideas….

This years design started with designing an invitation card for my two of good friends,

Started finding some stuff with a theme of a traditional Christian marriage. finally got an image and that does everything…

I did some manipulation with the sepia effect, adding some brightness and the usage of some brushes in Gimp.

the specialty of this card is its an invitation for two couples..:)

And thats the Twin Effect…:)

It did worked out.. and is a good invitation…:)

Calendar 2011 — First Calendar Design by me

This is the first ever calendar design made by me.

has worked in a hurry as i was to travel in a day or two, finally got it printed on a day before my travel to UK.

First copy of the calendar is given to my Beloved Sir. whom i admire most.

was able to take only 7 hard copies of the same.

still as my first ever work on a calendar its important for me.

On the calendar the photos, 5 of them were taken by me using my SX120 IS canon camera. seems good

did some work using Gimp and finally its OK for a print.

the other images i randomly selected from internet and one of my friend whom i have not seen, helped me in collecting some images too.

Special thanks for her, for her interest in design and imaging and the work she did for this.

I dedicated this calendar for my parents and my friends, who were my strength and support for the whole life.

the serious of images is my calendar which i have given for hard copy.

As this is my first ever design of a calendar, you can find lot of mistakes as an amateur designer.

Would be taken care in my further works. Do comment on whatever u feel as negative and would have made it better.

Wedding Invitation.. Again “GIMP” works for me!!

Today Evening i got a call from my friend, as a request to design the marriage invitation for her.

Not having enough time and was a little busy with the work in office. Some how i managed and promised her would do some good work for her by today evening or by tomorrow..

Later i came to know, she need to send the invitation tomorrow as after that she would be on leave…

I was searching to find some templates and images which i can use for the invitation, Desperately i found nothing good and started searching my old collections of wall papers from my old CD’s.

Some how i end up with some 3-4 pictures, which are of marriage background.

Finally i selected one picture, and though of doing some GIMP works on it..:)

Did the similar Selective Coloring effects for the image. and made it some special in appearance.

added some Gaussian blur and glowing too to the image (selected area).

Finally i am satisfied with my work…:)

Then its time to add some editing. and adding the Text. It wont be nice to add raw text over the image. simply added some heart using Gimp Brushes and finally made it into a growing heart.

added the Invitation Texts and over it added a picture of flower… (I don’t know why i added yellow flower)

Finally added a small editing with paint brush to add a frame over the image.

The result is this… I have not shown the Card yet to whom it was for..but i am sure she would like it…

Because, i felt myself this is one of the invitations i have made with a lot of effort and with some special ideas.

and Frankly Myself liked it a lot…

 

An Invitation Card for Betrothal Of My Best Friend

My latest Design for My friends Engagement Function…:)

Done almost some 1 month back and was waiting to publish this in my blog.. once when the Invitation was send to all officially..:)

And today it happened.. and i am publishing it in my blog…

Was an output of some 2-3 dasy work..:)  as i was doing the work in my leisure time..:)

Has done some 4-5 designs and this was finally selected…:)

Hope this is Good…

Simply googled for some marriage images and got this.. image as back ground.. edited a lot in that image…

Added the clouds and finally added some works with adobe illustrator..:)

And this is my first work with adobe illustrator…

Added some cartoon painting like image, which i did using adobe illustrator..

Given the boundary something which looks like a stamp

Finally all got this..:) in my friends circle.. and my Best friend is happy with this card…

 

Some Learning with Gimp

After watching a Hindi movie song (Anjaana Anjaani), somehow i got interested with Selective coloring in images, It wont look much innovative thing, but for me it was a new step.

I have selected some nice photos, and some cut outs, thinking i could make some good images which would be wonderful…

There i learned my first lesson…. ” It wont look good every image, if we do Selective coloring”.

and the other was ” Its difficult to do selective coloring as well color manipulation on images especially girls with hairs. where background is seen”

Changed my mind, and started planning for some good ideas to do selective colouring.

Then i thought, why i should go for some photos? i shall make some and try in that, Only matter of time na.

I am free then

But still i went for some good photographs also for trying selective coloring.

Some how i managed to prepare some average images, wont be much superb, and wonderful images, How can i use these images? Then my mind told.. Go and make this as your Good Morning mails…

Went for it…..

And the result is………….

Here in the above image i have added something would not look much beautiful, just added frame for the image and some gradient effect, This is my first selective coloring image — and i learned something special from this…

With an idea of making something more beautiful, tried some more images…

Those i felt is better than the above..

Added some Good quotes, to the images and with some effects using the brushes i got in my GIMP, some of the Good Morning mails are ready..

Finally i thought of adding some photo as a good morning mail.. I selected a wedding photo, which i have found on internet. Sorry for the original up loader, I took that photo and did my lessons of selective coloring, was not so careful for the work, still i liked it a lot.

one can find the mistakes, and the unfinished touchings, it will be OK for my next posts and my next designs.

Now i think, people will say.. – enough with my selective coloring tutorials…. shall try something else…

Anyway its nice to see some images, will be updating with new effects and my new techniques still if i am free there..

I learned something new and some design techniques, which i have to take care…:)

Good Morning Mails…

I was a little free these days in Office. Hence thought of doing something creatively, the best way i opted was to prepare some designs and mails. I have a habit of sending good morning mails for all my friends daily.

So thought of design some good morning mails, rather than forwarding the good morning mails. it would be better to send those were created by me.

In that in mind, started learning as well brushing up some techniques and the facilities available with GIMP, the open source Photoshop of mine.:)

Would take the portions of image after googling, and will add as layers to a white background.:)  — the simplest way

Finally did some practice and my Good Morning mails are ready…:)

These two are done with not much work, simply used Gimp and picasa.

Here the above  image was little blurred, i used some bad way to reduce the size of the image, and i missed the original image too.

In this image, i liked the tortoise, which i took from a cartoon website, there is nothing much in this image other than using my regular Brushes, and some colour effects., Since the tortoise was in green color, i thought to stick with Green design and with Black for writing ..

These two images were done with little difficulty as i was touching soem designs after a long gap…:) a starting trouble…

 

Friendship Day Card

Its now time to Wish all Friends ” A Happy Friendship Day ..”

This year’s friendship day falls on August 1st, The First Sunday of the Month..

Since it was a Sunday , I thought of sending a friendship day greetings on Friday itself..

Simply I used an image from BBC WORLD as the background image and did some editing .

Added the swirl and the glow effect, finally added some back light and the vignetting effect. (Seems the Vignetting effect was little more )

Anyway Finished the design all of a sudden within 7 mins.

Another Farewell Card

It seems, Its the time for Farewell..

Every week I am creating some farewell cards, This time for my another cubicle mate who was with me for the last 1 year.

Even though it was for the last one year, we became good friends and good colleagues.

He is from calicut and a nice admirer.

I had no time to make his farewell card, till then i managed to make some how a better one.

Th card was made as a farewell greetings from our team named “Srishti”.

My Best Companion’s Farewell Gift

Today is one of the saddest days in my experience in Tata Elxsi.

Its today My best companion in the office left from there, so it created a hollowness in the relations in Office.

It was with him i first joined as a team and led these 3.5 yrs in Tata Elxsi.

We worked, played and enjoyed these 3 years and finally it happened.. which is the part of the life… the Seperation..

Only some 3-4 peoples left who were with me from the start itself..

And finally I thought of give my friend a special gift which was not received by any one there..

So i created a photo collage, which contains the photo  clips from our special moments in TEL…

It seems to be good and liked it too..

This is what i did for my best companion In Office.. and Now i am missing him…

something missing.. in my career in TEL now….
